Quality construction
The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-III is no slouch in the construction department. All materials are top-notch, including the chambered mahogany body, mahogany neck, beautiful AAA flame maple top, and pau ferro fingerboard. This is no bolt-on-neck wannabe — it's got a set neck, just like the LPs you've been drooling over.
Vintage appeal
From classic appointments such as trapezoid inlays and vintage-style binding to classy chrome hardware and pickup covers, the Ultra-III has it all. And the addition of ProBucker-2 and ProBucker-3 pickups, individual volume and tone knobs, and a 3-way selector means you'll generate some timeless tone from this axe.
Modern flexibility
The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra-III features not one, but two pickup systems. The first system has a traditional humbucker setup using ProBucker-2 and ProBucker-3 pickups, and the second system utilizes the Shadow NanoMAG pickup. The NanoMAG is discreetly mounted at the end of the fretboard, and it houses samarium cobalt magnets and active electronics that let it pick up the body resonance and string harmonics to produce acoustic guitar tones.
